Attendance Commitment

Pony Lessons, Riding Lessons and Recreation / Competition Vaulting are ongoing commitments. Please provide two weeks notice if you will not be continuing in your class in order to allow us time to fill the class opening.

Drop In Lessons, Camps & Birthday Parties are one-time class/event commitments.

Drop In Lessons cannot be rescheduled, and payments cannot be applied to another class or refunded.

Please seek "Payment" section for information relating to Camp cancelations/refunds.

Make Up Classes

Weather

If you miss a class due to weather closure, we will provide a make-up class, credit your missed class to a future payment, or provide a refund for the missed class.

Sickness

If you are sick and cannot attend your class, we will do our best to offer a make up class but cannot guarantee availability.

Vacation / Forgot Class

If you miss class due to vacation, or simply forgot, we are not able to offer a make up class and you will still be required to pay for the missed date(s).

Payments

Cash, Check & Venmo (@AJS-Farms), and all major credit/debit cards are accepted!

Payment Due Dates:

Payments are due on the date of your first lesson of the month for ongoing classes. 

If you have questions regarding your amount due because of weather closures, barn closures or variations in the month (fewer or more weeks in the month), please contact us!


Payment-In-Full is due for all online registrations.

Payments are non-refundable, with the following exception for Camps:

>1 month notice: 3/4 refund

1 month notice: 1/2 refund

2 week notice: 1/4 refund

<2 week notice: no refund

$100 deposit is due for Birthday Parties, and is non-refundable.

Drop In Lessons cannot be rescheduled, and payments cannot be applied to another class or refunded.

Fatigue

Fever

Headache

Indigestion

Sore Throat

Tack is cleaned between usage.

Hand sanitizer & sanitizing wipes are provided.

Horseback riding is naturally social distanced!

Weather

Rain or Shine

Classes take place rain or shine - we have an indoor and an outdoor arena!

School Closures

In the event of school closure in our area (bordering both Allegan & Ottawa County) due to inclement weather, classes will be canceled, rescheduled or postponed. We will provide a make-up date for your class, credit the missed class to the next month's payment, or refund the missed class.

Extreme Temperatures

Neither horses nor students enjoy extreme temperatures! In the event of extreme cold or heat, you will be notified that your class will be canceled, rescheduled or postponed. We will provide a make-up date for your class, credit the missed class to the next month's payment, or refund the missed class.

Barn Closures

AJS Farms is closed on the following dates to allow times of rest for the horses & staff, and to encourage family time for students:

2023

All Sundays

Spring Break: April 3-8

Independence Day: July 3-5

End of Summer Break / Labor Day: August 28 - September 4

Thanksgiving Break: November 20-24

Christmas Break: December 18-Dec 31 (except for Christmas Break Camps!)

Liability Release

Liability Release Forms must be completed every calendar year for anyone who will be interacting with one of our horses. This includes parents/adults who participate in Mommy and Me/Pony classes.

Background Checks

All adult staff and volunteers who interact with students are required to have a yearly background check.
